Mesa Verde National Park in a day

Mesa Verde National Park is such a unique destination full of history! Mesa Verde National Park isn’t really a hiking or adventure park, it’s more about educating yourself on the history of the pueblo people. I remember learning about the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings in high school and they just fascinated me! I’m not normally interested in history but I do like to imagine how people lived during those times. If you’re in the area, then you have to stop by for a few hours to check them out!!

    Kayak Antelope Canyon

We had to kayak into Antelope Canyon because of COVID protocols but now that I’ve done it I have to tell you it’s definitely the way to go! The Antelope Canyon hiking tours are very crowded and they’re your typical “tourist trap”. You can kayak Antelope Canyon at your own pace, potentially have the place all to yourself, and see some amazing views along Lake Powell. I can’t imagine doing one of the paid walking tours now that we’ve kayaked it on our own.

  • PVC Pipe Garden Cover

I’ve definitely learned a lot about gardening this past year!! The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that there are 500 things that can go wrong in a garden. One of my biggest battles is with the birds and squirrels eating all of my yummy treats! My second biggest battle is with the intense Texas sun and my third greatest battle is with the random snowfall we get in Texas. To solve all of these issues, I’ve invested in a DIY PVC Pipe Garden Cover. The DIY PVC Pipe Garden Cover will be used as a frame for which I’ll use to cover with different material. In the spring I’ll use bird netting, in the summer I’ll use a shade tarp, and in the winter I’ll use a tarp for frost protections.

  • Raise Kitchen Cabinets

During our DIY Kitchen Remodel, we decided to raise our ceiling and install ceiling height cabinets. Ceiling height cabinets are cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling, meaning they don’t leave a gap between the cabinets and ceiling. I absolutely love ceiling height cabinets! They provide you with more storage, require less cleaning, and make your kitchen look more cohesive. Some people complain that you can’t easily reach the top shelf, but that’s fine with me. I put things I don’t use on a regular basis on the top shelf, like Christmas cookie cutters and my china collection.

  • DIY Kitchen Remodel

A DIY Kitchen Remodel is super overwhelming but it’s also totally worth it!! You’ll save a ton of money (potentially cutting the cost in half) by doing everything yourself!! You’ll also have so much confidence in your abilities and feel confident to make updates as problems arise.
